Apple announces Siri AI: assistant will be available on all of the company’s devices

At the WWDC 2026 presentation, they announced the new Siri assistant, which will now be called Siri AI and is built on Google’s infrastructure. You can invoke the assistant just like before, but now it has more capabilities — it can see what’s on your screen, work on the web, and even detect the location of what’s shown in a photo and immediately plot a route to that place.

The assistant also got a new voice, which users can customize to their liking. It has become better at recognizing speech by ear and even handles punctuation when you pause during dictation. It can also send messages in chats, go online, and make purchases. The assistant will be available on all Apple devices, and on the Mac, the assistant window can be moved and resized.

Siri AI will also be built into the Camera app, where an additional AI-powered mode will appear. The object cleanup feature will work better, allowing you to remove unwanted items without leaving any visual artifacts. Siri will also work in the browser, analyzing all pages and organizing them into groups. If there’s a page where you’re waiting for an update, you can ask the assistant to “notify me” so you don’t miss anything important.

On Apple computers, you’ll be able to select parts of the screen and ask for help understanding what’s shown there. What’s more, the assistant can generate documents and text files — just formulate your request in plain language.

All apps will support interactions with Siri, so you’ll be able to give the assistant complex, multi-step tasks. Siri can also generate photorealistic images and transform photos from your album into different styles. The AI has capabilities in programming as well, but through OpenAI and Anthropic agents.

All AI features will be available for free, but image generation requests will have limits.
