Are Regular Mice Becoming a Thing of the Past? Logitech Drops a Pocket-Sized Model

Logitech has started selling its first foldable computer mouse — the model is called the Mobi Fold, and when folded, the mouse is roughly the size of a wireless earbuds case, weighing in at 79 grams.
When unfolded, the body arches to take a familiar palm-friendly shape, but unlike Microsoft's Arc mouse, the Mobi Fold can literally be folded in half and slipped into your pocket. According to the manufacturer, the hinge is rated for 15 years of daily use. The outer surface is coated in silicone, which adds grip and protects against dust; the device has also passed drop tests. Instead of a traditional scroll wheel, there's a touchpad that supports precise and fast scrolling. Two additional touch zones can be programmed using the proprietary Logi Options+ utility, and a built-in machine learning algorithm prevents accidental presses when folding — the mouse senses when it's being put away and disables the touch controls.
The Mobi Fold is powered by a battery that can be replaced if needed. This is likely due to European regulations, but for users, that's more of a plus. A full charge should last up to a month of use, and it supports fast charging: one minute plugged in gives you about 22 hours of battery life. It connects via Bluetooth to three devices simultaneously, with switching between them. Out of the box, it works with Windows, macOS, ChromeOS, Android, iPadOS, and Linux. An important new feature is Google Fast Pair certification for Bluetooth-enabled models — the first such solution among Logitech input devices.
The Mobi Fold is not the first foldable mouse on the market, but for Logitech, it's a notable expansion of their lineup into ultra-portable solutions. The mouse lacks aggressive gamer aesthetics and looks more like an office accessory that can easily handle daily commutes in a backpack or bag. The retail price is $79.99 (around 6,000 rubles); for now, sales have only started in the US and Europe, but the device will later reach other regions.
