One of the Most Expensive RTX 5090s Ever Made Is Now on Sale

Retailers have officially started selling the GIGABYTE AORUS GeForce RTX 5090 Infinity OC. The new card celebrates the Taiwanese manufacturer’s 40th anniversary and comes with a price tag of $5,299.99 (around 382,000 rubles), making it one of the most expensive custom variants of NVIDIA’s flagship accelerator out there right now. For context, at the very same MicroCenter, the cheapest RTX 5090 you can grab (the Zotac SOLID) will set you back $3,099.99 (about 224,000 rubles), while the liquid-cooled ASUS ROG Astral LC goes for $4,529.99 (roughly 327,000 rubles).

On the tech side, the new card stands out in three key ways: first, its cooling system hides a third fan that you can’t even see from the outside—the idea being to cut down on noise and improve airflow through the heatsink. Second, GIGABYTE has ditched standard thermal paste in favor of a composite metal thermal interface, claiming it retains its heat-conducting properties for much longer. And third, the GPU runs at a boost clock of 2730 MHz—about 300 MHz higher than the reference spec. Worth noting: the card sticks with air cooling, skipping the more expensive liquid setup.

The company is openly positioning the AORUS Infinity not as a mainstream gaming card, but as a collector’s piece aimed at hardcore enthusiasts and brand loyalists. RTX 5080 and RTX 5070 versions are expected to join the Infinity lineup later on. They’ll almost certainly cost more than the standard models, though it's unlikely they’ll pull off the same 2x markup over MSRP.

In the meantime, GeForce RTX 3060 and RTX 3050 cards are back on shelves at much friendlier prices. AMD, too, is expanding support for its older RDNA-based cards, having just released FSR 4.1 upscaling for them.
