GIGABYTE Unveils B850 AORUS Elite X3D Motherboard with X3D Turbo Mode 2.0

GIGABYTE has unveiled the B850 AORUS Elite X3D motherboard—a model aimed squarely at gamers and enthusiasts who want to get the most out of AMD AM5 processors, especially Ryzen X3D chips featuring 3D V‑Cache. The board supports modern AMD technologies and offers an extensive set of overclocking and tuning capabilities.

The headline feature here is the proprietary X3D Turbo Mode 2.0, designed to boost gaming performance on Ryzen X3D processors. This mode leverages an embedded AI model and dedicated hardware logic to dynamically adjust CPU parameters on the fly in real time. X3D Turbo Mode 2.0 comes with two selectable profiles: Extreme Gaming Mode and Max Performance Mode. Users can toggle between them depending on their workload to strike the right balance between performance and stability. According to GIGABYTE, enabling X3D Turbo Mode 2.0 can deliver up to a 25% lift in gaming performance, though actual gains will vary based on system configuration and the specific game being played.

The motherboard is built around a 16+2+2-phase digital VRM and features two 8-pin CPU power connectors. On the memory side, there are four DIMM slots supporting up to 256GB of DDR5 and overclocking speeds of up to 8200 MT/s. Storage options include four M.2 slots (two of which run at PCIe 5.0 speeds, while the other two are PCIe 4.0) plus two SATA 6 Gbps ports. Networking duties are handled by a 5‑gigabit Ethernet port and a Wi‑Fi 7 module with Bluetooth 5.4.
