Have we finally found a solution to OLED burn-in fears? GIGABYTE unveils a monitor with a burn-in warranty

GIGABYTE has started selling the 27-inch GO27Q24G gaming monitor, which packs a WOLED panel. The company is leaning hard into a combination of a speedy QHD display, advanced microlens tech, a glossy finish, and peak brightness numbers that are anything but typical for OLEDs in this class.

The 2560×1440 panel comes from LG Display and belongs to the WOLED generation with the MLA+ microlens array. That gives it a typical brightness of 275 cd/m², while HDR mode can briefly hit 1300 cd/m². The monitor is VESA DisplayHDR True Black 400 certified, which—together with 99% DCI-P3 coverage—delivers deep blacks and shadow detail without the washed-out gray background that plagues many gaming screens. A 240Hz refresh rate and a claimed 0.03ms response time (GtG) make this model a natural fit for fast-paced competitive titles, while NVIDIA G-SYNC Compatible and AMD FreeSync Premium support ensure tear-free adaptive sync with minimal flicker, thanks to the OLED VRR Anti-Flicker feature.

GIGABYTE has also baked a few of its own tricks into the GO27Q24G to boost brightness and clarity. The HyperNits feature offers two modes: High adds up to 30% extra overall brightness to HDR content, while Medium adds about 20% and is recommended for lower-light conditions. There's also a tactical toolkit for shooters and MOBAs, including the Tactical Switch 2.0 function, which lets you switch resolution and aspect ratio with a single press—say, dropping down to a 24-inch mode for that familiar feel in CS2 or Valorant. The Ultra Clear feature inserts a black frame to reduce motion blur, while Black Equalizer brightens up dark areas without touching the rest of the color palette.

One of the biggest worries for OLED buyers is burn-in, and this model features AI OLED Care: algorithms that analyze static elements and subtly shift pixel brightness without you even noticing, lowering the risk of image retention. The company is backing the monitor with a 3-year warranty that actually includes burn-in coverage for the panel itself.

The RealBlack Glossy coating, according to the vendor, cuts down on stray reflections thanks to an extra anti-glare layer, keeping shadows rich and deep even in well-lit rooms. The metal stand features an ultra-slim 2mm base and offers height adjustment (130mm), tilt, a 90-degree swivel into portrait mode, and ±15° of rotation. Ports include DisplayPort 1.4, two HDMI 2.1 ports, and a USB-C with 15W power delivery (DP Alt mode). There's also a standard headphone jack. The display is Eyesafe 3.0 certified and comes with hardware-level blue-light reduction, which should help ease eye strain during marathon sessions.

The suggested retail price at launch is still being finalized, but early batches have already been shipped to retailers. Interestingly, the model arrives at a time when OLED panels are no longer exotic—but the mix of MLA+, a glossy finish, and burn-in warranty coverage does help it stand out from the crowd.
