Valve Is Testing a Revamped VAC Patrol in Counter-Strike 2

Valve has opened a separate CS2 Video Review portal tied to VACNet, letting a limited group of players help test the system behind Counter-Strike 2. Some users have already received invitations, but the test is currently closed to most players.

The review process is straightforward: invited players watch a match fragment with X-Ray enabled and then decide whether the suspect used Aim Assist, Wall Hack or Auto BHop, or whether they were a bot. If the situation seems unclear, participants can skip it.

These verdicts will not directly affect the player being watched. Instead, Valve wants to use the answers to train future VACNet models so the system can better identify cheaters on its own later.

Valve is also asking participants not to record the review process or share the materials, which keeps the test tightly controlled while it runs behind closed doors. For now, the company appears focused on collecting data rather than immediately punishing anyone through the new tool.

That makes the test more of a training ground than a live moderation shortcut. If user verdicts help VACNet get sharper, should Valve let players keep judging borderline cases?
