SRhonyra's Connector-Less RTX 3060 Lands on Newegg for $495
SRhonyra's Newegg listing for its low-profile RTX 3060 12 GB puts the card at $495, and the standout feature is its connector-less, single-slot design for compact systems. According to the listing, the card draws power only through the PCIe x16 slot. It uses the GA106 die, comes with 12 GB of VRAM, and offers just two display outputs: HDMI 2.1 and DisplayPort 1.4a.
The board measures about 6.85 inches long, 2.71 inches wide, and 0.70 inches thick, making it a fit for the small-form-factor PC segment SRhonyra is targeting. The goal is to avoid external power cables and keep the card as compact as possible.
That compact design comes with a serious cost. Wccftech says the GPU is limited to less than half the power of regular RTX 3060 cards, which can pull up to 170W under load. In testing, the card was also sometimes slower than a GeForce GTX 1060 in synthetic apps and games.
SRhonyra is not presenting this RTX 3060 as a gaming card. Instead, the company positions it as an AI GPU for running 7B-13B LLMs, which makes the $495 price tag even harder to justify if performance is the main concern.
At the same time, the card's appeal is obvious for a very specific audience: people building tiny PCs who need a discrete GPU without extra power cables. Single-slot RTX 3060 Without Power Connector testing showed it can fall behind the GTX 1060 in benchmarks, so the question is whether that niche is enough to make a heavily cut-down RTX 3060 at this price feel reasonable.
Is a $495 RTX 3060 that can trail a GTX 1060 worth it for compact PC builders?
