The first details of the Prince of Persia remake: careful attention to the original and new interactions with Farah

On Monday, Ubisoft re-announced Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time and revealed the release year — 2026. The first details of the project appeared on the company's official blog.
- The game is in full production. It is being developed by Ubisoft Montreal with support from four other studios;
- The authors remember the original well and treat the remake with care. Many elements will be improved, but iconic moments will remain untouched. For example, wall running and time rewinding will be transferred without changes, while the game world will become larger;
- The combat system will be treated similarly: overall, the battles will be modernized, but iconic moves like jumping over an enemy and finishing moves will remain;
- There will be more interactions with Farah, and her character and story will be more developed;
- The candle shown in the latest teaser was used by the developers not only to demonstrate time rewinding. For them, it also became a symbol of comfort and passion for the game;
- Ubisoft has consultants on Persian culture to accurately convey the atmosphere;
- The game is based on the Anvil engine — the same one used for the latest Assassin's Creed installments.
The remake of The Sands of Time will be released on PC, Xbox Series X/S, and PS5.
