Warner Bros. has decided on the showrunner for the upcoming Harry Potter series. According to Deadline, Francesca Gardiner, who worked on His Dark Materials and Succession, will be responsible for the adaptation.
Mark Mylod will direct several episodes — he also worked on Succession, as well as directing the film The Menu and episodes for Game of Thrones, The Last of Us, and Shameless. Notably, both Mylod and Gardiner are Emmy award winners.
The Harry Potter series currently lacks any details beyond a brief teaser. It is known that the cast will be entirely new, and a total of 7 seasons are planned.
The premiere of the first season is set for 2026. Earlier, the actor who played Draco Malfoy gave advice to the future stars of the show.
