Robert Downey Jr. to play iconic villain in new Avengers
Marvel has finally found a way out of the situation after breaking the contract with the actor who played Kang the Conqueror. At Comic-Con in San Diego, two parts of The Avengers were announced at once, with the subtitles Doomsday and Secret Wars. In both films, the role of the antagonist will be played by Robert Downey Jr.
The actor will play Doctor Doom, one of the most famous villains in Marvel comics. Most likely, this will be a version of Tony Stark from another universe. Both films will be directed by brothers Anthony and Joe Russo, who previously directed Infinity War and Endgame.
The premiere of Avengers: Doomsday will take place in 2026, and Avengers: Secret Wars will be released in 2027. In fact, this means the complete cancellation of Kang Dynasty.
With the return of Robert Downey Jr., it is worth recalling the recent words of Kevin Feige. The other day, the head of Marvel allowed for the resurrection of not only Iron Man, but also Captain America, played by Chris Evans.
