Yakuza Creators Debut New Gameplay for 20th-Century Japan Action Game Stranger Than Heaven
June 7, 2025, 03:58 AM

Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio (Yakuza) made an appearance at the Summer Game Fest 2025 opening showcase with a fresh trailer for Project Century — now officially titled Stranger Than Heaven.
Details remain scarce, but the new footage is set in 1943. Interestingly, a previous teaser showed a very different Japan from 1915. What ties the two eras together is the enigmatic protagonist, Mako Daito — a man with striking blue eyes.
Fans have speculated that the game may serve as a prequel to the Yakuza series, possibly returning to familiar locations like Kamurocho and Sotenbori.
Stranger Than Heaven does not yet have a release date.
