LEGO PlayStation 1 Officially Revealed — Console Can Be Built From 1,911 Pieces
LEGO and Sony Interactive Entertainment have officially unveiled a new LEGO PlayStation set dedicated to the original PlayStation console, which first launched in Japan in 1994. The set will go on sale on October 1, 2026.
The set includes 1,911 pieces that can be used to build the console itself and the classic PlayStation controller. The LEGO PS1 also features several unusual interactive elements: the Open button on the front panel actually works, while the spring-loaded disc drive can be opened to reveal dioramas hidden inside.
Two miniature scenes dedicated to PlayStation's early history are hidden inside the console. One is inspired by Gran Turismo, while the other references Ape Escape. The set also includes a recreated PlayStation logo and various Easter eggs for fans of the brand.
Naturally, you won't be able to play games on the finished console — it's purely a collector's model. Still, the set lets fans recreate the iconic console and controller as LEGO builds.
The LEGO PlayStation will cost $179.99. For comparison, LEGO has previously released sets based on the Nintendo Entertainment System, Atari 2600, and Sega Genesis.
The LEGO PlayStation will go on sale on October 1, 2026.
By the way, LEGO previously recreated the iconic Batmobile from Batman Returns.
