The game is often praised for its story.
But he didn’t particularly impress me. No, the plot is good, don’t think so, but personally it seemed to me that the developers seemed to put the plot thread in the background, bringing emotions to the fore. Oooh, how many incredible emotions the passage gave me! There are some really strong moments, I won’t spoil them.
Gameplay - my applause. There are unusual, interesting mechanics, a varied arsenal, and a simple crafting system. Everything is as it should be: the game from the beginning to the very end introduces you to new features and mechanics, without forgetting the old ones (as often happens in many games, ala “Forget everything we taught you at the very beginning.. .you won’t need it anymore, now everyone does it like this”). Here you will have to use almost everything.
I don’t know why “Action” is listed first in the genre column. For the most part, it's stealth. But for stealth action there is also quite enough action here (the final battle was especially delightful).
And, of course, God, how beautiful this game is! Every location is amazing. And the best part is that the lockers don’t look empty: the developers took great care in the smallest details, which adds “volume” to the environment, making you forget about the passage for a while and just admire the environment. My bow to the artists and designers!
Oh yes, and all this to excellent music! If for me, a person completely deprived of a musical ear, it was carried all the way to the genome, that’s really bravo.
In general, after completing it, I added A Plague Tale to my list of favorite games with all confidence.
And for those who are still familiar with this masterpiece, I definitely recommend it!
P.S. I took advantage of the advice I found on the net - I played the game with French voice acting (the setting was France, after all) - I didn’t regret it, it was a separate kind of pleasure from perceiving the game.
