Not long ago, the developers finally gave up and made a number of changes to the game, so that now their project can launch and work on modern systems. A miracle happened, there is no other way to call it.
A pleasant quest with the lion's share of humor, sometimes dark, about the vampire Mona (who is also an opera singer) and the bat Froderick. Good synergy between characters in dialogues, especially in Russian localization.
Gameplay is a typical quest, go poke/listen/read and solve problems. Sometimes you will have to think twice, but there is nothing that cannot be solved. The main thing is not to get a softlock due to some actions at the beginning of the game, after which you will not be able to progress further. The softlock itself is that at some point you will need to pour perfume on the monster, after which there is no need to fill the bottle with a new portion of perfume because this bottle will be needed for the potion. If the bottle is filled with perfume again, then it will be impossible to pour it out, either on the monster or anywhere at all.
The plot is not complicated, which undoubtedly benefits the game.
The audio accompaniment is not intrusive and pleasant, well, except when you hang out in one place for an hour.
The localization is good, but I haven’t compared it with the original and I can’t say how the jokes/puns and every breath are conveyed. I will only add that it was pleasant to listen to both the main character and the side characters.
The graphics, of course, don’t look great in 2023, but I’m ready to forgive her for that. After all, the game is from 2008, and this is not the main thing in the quest.
The controls are simple and clear:
tab - highlighting places/objects with which you can interact;
space — skipping a scene/frame/action (it’s better not to overuse it because animations break);
lkm — movement;
LMB - holding on objects (including in the inventory) brings up a menu of interactions (conversation, action, flying in mouse form, inspection);
right-click - at the screen border (when moving/changing location) immediately performs this action;
As a result: a good game that currently lacks support for widescreen monitors, and maybe even a texture update, or even a re-release and a prequel.
