Baldur's Gate 2: Throne of Bhaal is both an add-on and an improvement for Baldur's Gate 2. The add-on is a continuation of the main storyline of the game, which takes place after the end of Baldur's Gate 2. The improvement adds new features that appear in the main game after installing Throne of Bhaal, as well as a new location, the Watch Tower, accessible both from the main game (from chapters two, three and six) and from Throne of Bhaal. In total, according to various sources, from 70 to 80 new game areas were added.
