Steam reviews are 91% positive
I’ll probably be one of the remaining 9%. Perhaps everything has its time, but the developers made a number of fatal mistakes, namely:
- the introductory part is bad. Reminiscent of events, but not characters.
- The first half of the plot. In the 1st part we ran to the city to escape? Well, now we run to another city. And so that there is a parallel line, we will give the second Persian a box and tell him to carry it to another city. Interesting-star.
- In the first part, each storyline had key characters and played on contrast, which in the finale merged and created a common herd. When the herd splits up in Part 2, it feels like they are two parts of the same herd, led by different leaders.
- The game has given birth to so many characters that it is no longer possible to like anyone. If previously each arc had a permanent companion for dialogue, now only one of them has it. And then a stupid woman-litter, conversations with whom are not interesting.
I still love the world and I love the idea of the whole series. Even when the plot twists appeared, they were interesting. However, the 2nd part seemed stupidly boring. They threw in a new race for the hell of it, characters for dialogue are thrown in as if at random. It feels like they decided to make Atomic Blonde out of the game. The darkness of characters, where they try to convince everyone of the importance and in the end you get bored because there is no one to focus your attention on, except for the two key characters. But I’ll give it credit, they introduced a good character for the second arc.
2 out of 5
And I don’t even want to deny that perhaps I really sat down to play the game at the wrong time. I've been going through recent games more noticing the bugs and getting bored. And if in Deus and Tails there were fans on my side who criticized these games for their plots and characters, in this case I feel alone. Players and critics alike are raving about the game, but I just want to shrug my shoulders. I don’t see why it can be given a 9. Leaving aside the merits of the original, I want to criticize more than praise, but purely for subjective concepts of secondaryness and poor work with minor characters.
