The ending to the saga of a man in a bat suit turned out to be worthy. I played after the final optimization and I can say that with my not very new hardware I played at high settings without encountering any bugs, crashes or freezes.
The plot leaves a pretty good impression after completion, although I am upset by the appointment of Scarecrow to the role of the main villain, because this is not a particularly suitable role for him. Scarecrow has always been a supporting villain, so this is a controversial decision. And with the ending, everything is extremely strange: Batman became a demon? Are these residents' glitches? There are many questions, but no answers.
Additional quests, as always, are done at a high level. I was especially fascinated by the quest “Night Flyer” (originally “Creature of the Night”), which tells the story of one of the old characters of the Bat-universe - Dr. Kirk Langstrom. A very dramatic story, and even with an open ending (which is an Easter egg). However, even in a barrel of honey there is a fly in the ointment: a screwed-up quest with Deathstroke, one of Batman’s toughest opponents, and the way to complete this quest. Towers, checkpoints, mines and tank battle? Seriously? Mortal boredom. And of course, everyone is fed up with Nygma’s riddles, where would we be without them?
DLC is a controversial thing. The combat is changed only in the addition about Harley, and the stories have zero value for the canon (except that the story of the Red Hood has weight, because one of the most important heads of mafia clans is cut out and a new “ex-Batman” is introduced with more severe methods). Of course, one could say that Batgirl's story is quite interesting, but... no. The atmosphere of the location is good, but the plot is empty, which is unfortunate. Of all the DLCs, only the Hood's story grabbed my attention.
A special word about “Particularly Dangerous”.
Croc's story is bland and boring, R'as al Ghul's storyline is interesting, but nothing special, the Hatter is not bad, and Frieze is passable.
The graphic is good, Gotham is colorful and everything just begs for a screenshot. Rocksteady knows how to create beautiful landscapes of a gloomy city. It feels like even the trash in the dusty nooks and crannies has been worked out in detail. The models since Arkham City have become prettier, their faces have become less cartoonish, and the Dark Knight has become even more brutal.
The controls (even on PC) are convenient and don’t force you to pull your hands out of rage. Some may say that it’s better on a gamepad, but even on the keyboard I had a blast. Although things like "fast batarangs" sometimes infuriate.
The music in Arkham Knight is amazing. The gloomy fairy-tale quality taken from the compositions of Danny Elfman, who wrote the music for Tim Burton's Batman, and the epicness of the Dark Knight soundtrack by Zimmer are incredibly delivered throughout the entire game.
Localization is good. I'm glad that there is no Russian voice acting, because you can't beat Conroy and Hammil. The text matches the speech and the subtitles do not lag.
As a result: the game gave me a lot of good emotions and I happily replayed “New Game+”. I recommend it.
