BioShock... How many pleasant memories come to mind when you mention the name of this game... Just think, at one time I was even afraid to play it and avoided it.
Everything changed with the brilliant appearance of BioShock Infinite, it was after it that I decided to get acquainted with the first part. I will never forget this meeting.
The first dive under water, the music makes me shiver, and behold, in front of me is a majestic structure of human hands - a city under water called Delight. And then I learned that the great days of this place were over, and it was living its last hours. I had to learn the history of this place and protect myself from inhabitants who had long ago lost their appearance and reason. The level design, character audio, and great music immersed me in the story of Rapture. I lived this story and I enjoyed it. The plot, simple at the beginning, changed and at the end it even surprised me with its twist.
What about the gameplay? This is a first-person shooter, which, of course, requires you to shoot a lot of weapons. Also, it is possible to use unusual abilities - plasmids. Weapons can be upgraded, adding bonuses to the hero’s abilities and increasing the power of plasmids. The arsenal starts with a wrench and a regular revolver, and ends with a shotgun, spray gun, grenade launcher and crossbow. If you get tired of shooting, you can always use plasmids to fry the enemy with fire or electricity, freeze them, cause a swarm of bees, lift an object into the air, force the enemy to come over to your side. There are a lot of opportunities for killings, you can even use the environment. The game is fun to play, but due to the length of the game it gets a little boring towards the end.
BioShock is first and foremost a game with atmosphere and a good script. They are the ones who delight and immerse you in this unusual world. I will always remember Bioshock and advise everyone to try this miracle of the gaming industry.
