In 2009, EA published the creation of the Criterion Games studio - Burnout: Paradise, a game about street racing in a corner of paradise. The game has no tuning, no police, no plot, but in exchange for this the game has a cool soundtrack, an unlimited map on which races take place along the route you choose, there is amazing damage physics, and accidents are a pleasure to watch. The game also has a cool multiplayer, which also does not limit anything: do what you want, how you want, where you want. Cars in the game are given for experience, completed races, etc. To get a car, you need to catch it in a free game and crash it. We get the cars at the local landfill, it’s still cool that the car is not given from scratch, but in the condition in which you last saw it.

Cool, driving. The developers did their best and the game turned out just right. Variety of vehicles, colorful collisions, musical accompaniment. One of the main features is that the races do not have a specific route. At first you will follow the bots, then little by little various routes will be stored in your head and now the bots will follow you. I liked the implementation of the driver level - through a driver's license. Overall, Burnout Paradise is a great example of an old-school game in a fresh (at the time of release) shell. Perhaps you will be able to find a more suitable representative of the open world genre.

Unfortunately, I didn’t have a chance to play any of the previous parts. But I can firmly say that Burnout: Paradise and Hot Pursuit 2010 are the best creations of the Criterion Games team.

Complete freedom of action - from the very beginning the entire city is available for exploration, where you can find a lot of entertainment for yourself, ranging from ordinary accidents to unique jumps with subsequent photos, as well as the destruction of billboards and ordinary fences.

Independence. After NFS, it was very unusual to realize that the race can start from any traffic light and you go to the finish line as you see fit, because there are no arrow barriers that guide you from start to finish. Scattering opponents, with whom you can fight and slam them into the walls at every opportunity, as … Read full

I’m not very impressed with the racing genre, but it’s worth mentioning a game from the authors of Criterion Games and publisher EA in the genre of arcade crazy racing. Yes, there are no famous cars here, but only rusty wrecks from which you will begin your journey through the expanses of the city, you are free to choose which race you want to complete and which not. Often, you are not limited to a linear route and if you study the city well, you can cheat. But the main feature of the game is the accidents. Here they are juicy, showing how your car broke down from different angles. The game is recommended for anyone who just wants to drive around and crash a couple of cars while listening to a great soundtrack.
