Call of Duty: Mobile is a conditionally free-to-play multiplayer first and third-person shooter for Android and iOS devices. It offers a set of classic network modes on iconic maps and a "battle royale" in a large open world, as well as a mix of classes, weapons, and equipment from the Modern Warfare and Black Ops series. It features long-term progression and regular updates.
The classic part of Call of Duty: Mobile is built on the confrontation of two teams of five players with constant respawn after death in the most popular modes of the past:
- Team Deathmatch — the team that makes the required number of kills first wins. Players are thrown all over the map, adding a certain chaos.
- Frontline — similar to the previous mode with the adjustment that players spawn at bases at opposite ends of the map. Two rounds, but the team with the most kills overall wins.
- Search & Destroy — one team defends while the other must destroy two points using a bomb. Defenders win if the attackers do not manage to blow up the points before time runs out.
- Domination — capture and hold three flags in different locations on the map to earn points for your team. The team with the most points wins;
- Hardpoint — only one control point that periodically changes its location, capturing which the team starts earning points. The longer they hold it, the closer to victory.
- Gun Game — players start with the same weapon and no combat gear. With each kill, the weapon changes to another, and you will have to shoot from all 7 types. The first to make 20 kills wins.
- Sniper Only — a mode available once a week, players shoot each other with sniper rifles and start at their bases. Quick reaction and low ping will be key to victory.
- Free-for-all — 8 players participate, each for themselves. Players spawn in random locations on the map, and the first to make the required number of kills wins.
At the time of release, Call of Duty: Mobile featured the most popular maps from previous games in the series:
New modes and maps have been added as the game evolves.
The developers managed to convey the essence of the gameplay characteristic of regular Call of Duty — fast and dynamic shootouts, use of special tools (recon drone, airstrike, etc.), a huge arsenal of weapons with an appropriate physical model, various equipment, and character classes.
All adjusted for mobile gaming: playing is simpler and easier, tactics are reduced to run-and-gun and stand-and-shoot, auto-shoot helps with precise aiming, ranked matches are not demanding of skills, and the battles themselves take less time.
There are many weapons: pistols, submachine guns, shotguns, assault and sniper rifles, light machine guns, various heavy weapons. There are modifications that can be installed to improve characteristics, for example, by adding a muzzle brake for precise shooting.
Several movement options are implemented, aiming, primary and secondary weapons, shooting while sliding and crouching, throwing grenades, reloading, and three special abilities. All actions are scattered across buttons, organically located on the screen.
Characters, classes, and leveling up
For both classic and "battle royale," you can create up to five builds, customizing appearance, equipment, choosing a set of perks (character, gameplay, and points) or character class.
There is a lot of equipment and content in general in Call of Duty: Mobile: primary and secondary weapons (plus 3-4 modifications for each), "operator skill" (grenade launcher, machine gun, and other heavy weapons), eight types of grenades (fragmentation, EMP, smoke), dozens of armor suits.
In classic multiplayer the player enhances themselves with three perks — one affects character actions, another affects gameplay, and the third affects points earned.
In battle royale six classes are available: clown, mechanic, defender, ninja, scout, and medic, each with an active and passive ability. For example, the ninja uses a grappling hook to quickly move between buildings and climb roofs, and moves silently due to a passive ability.
The character gains experience points for any activity. The more points (directly influenced by combat effectiveness), the more levels they will gain, unlocking new perks, weapons, and equipment. But all this still needs to be purchased — with in-game credits or gold. Both single purchases and containers with loot boxes and random rewards are available.
If you don't invest real money, you will have to constantly stay in Call of Duty: Mobile, completing daily and weekly tasks, leveling up, watching ads and promotional items, and selling unnecessary junk in the inventory. The higher the level, the more credits are needed, so quickly unlocking the best items won't be possible.
Features of Call of Duty: Mobile battle royale
Call of Duty: Mobile is much closer to reality than its competitors in the genre. Drop ships fly over the map, allowing you to choose a landing spot, and after jumping during free fall, players reach the desired point and deploy their parachutes.
Immediately after landing, you need to search for weapons, ammo, armor, and equipment, which are scattered both in boxes and just everywhere in the game world. You can store bandages, syringes, medkits, and adrenaline in the vest, but using them takes time.
Matches are designed for 100 participants, among them will be smart bots. Since everyone is collecting weapons and equipment, it is not forbidden to approach a body and thoroughly search it — the game will automatically pick up what is needed or swap an item for a better one.
The world size constantly shrinks, forcing players to act more actively and aggressively. Each match lasts no more than 15 minutes, which is acceptable for mobile gaming.
The game can be set for solo, duo, or quad drops.
Карта собрана из культовых локаций предыдущих игр серии (космопорт из Call of Duty: Black Ops, поместье из Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 (2009) и так далее) и элементов карты Blackout от Call of Duty: Black Ops 4.
- ворох настроек для каждого режима и даже для каждого оружия — не поленитесь зайти в настройки, чтобы убрать автоприцел у дробовиков, включить спринт и тому подобное;
- несмотря на активное продвижение сразу двух боевых пропусков, весь контент в игре можно нафармить играя регулярно;
