Games Carmageddon: Max Damage All reviews Review from TastyTurmoil

I bought this game under strong pressure from nostalgia, justifying spending money on the good feelings that a new Carmageddon could bring, which the original gave in its time.

What I mean is that on my part the game had a credit of trust, and I was ready to close my eyes to a lot, but in the end I was still not satisfied.

The main problem of the game is that since the original it cannot offer anything new; we have already seen most of the content in the game before. At first the reaction was like this: “Wow, this is the same car that I liked! Wow, with the new graphics and physics, crushing all these people in the stadium is so unusual.” And then it became clear that the game brought all the pleasure only due to this nostalgia, you just experience the same feelings from the past.

As for other aspects of the game, I can say that nothing came out good. Physics is disgusting, cars are like irons on wheels. The music is boring and unmemorable. The design of the maps is terrible, the objects are inexpressive, they simply blend into each other and the background. Customizing cars - replacing the engine, body, weapons - only changes the numbers, there will be no cosmetic changes. You can change the color of the car, but the authors prepared the colors in advance, so you can’t paint them individually.

I expected something completely different from the game. Nowhere on the game's Steam page does it say that this is just an HD remake. And the line “Carmageddon: Max Damage is the newest game from the legendary Carmageddon series” is completely confusing, passing off the game as a completely new product. It’s better to play the original, you’ll definitely like it (and if the original didn’t hook you, then I definitely don’t recommend playing this).
