Games Child of Light All reviews Review from OldBoySmile

Everyone hates the studio more.

EA, Blizzard, Ubisoft and other bastards sometimes finance small studios to divert attention from their atrocities in the form of studio closures, game cancellations, or God forbid Kojima’s dismissal. They say, look, we gave money to a poor small company, expect a new masterpiece from it.

At the same time, attaching a snake from the DLS to such masterpieces. In our case, Ubisoft decided to venture into creative indie in 2014. And this is perhaps the most successful investment in indie in the last ten years. Let's find out why.

Child of Light has become one of the really good ones, and, no less important, recognizable against the backdrop of all the obscenity of the “Steam Greenlight” indies.

The whole game is built in the form of a fairy tale, with standard beginnings in the style of “a girl has disappeared and is looking for her home and relatives.” Oh yes, she’s also a princess... and makes friends... an evil stepmother... Well, you understand, standard crap about princesses.

Everything you need to know (DRAWING WITH WATERCOLORS 10 out of 10 TO YOUR FINGERTIPS) about the game. Well, it really is graphically extremely pleasing to the eye, and what is no less important for me is that the music takes into account the visuals extremely well.

This is one of those games that you really have to be a bastard to criticize. Here you have excellent visuals and the music is quite good. The level design is extremely simple, but when you play, you realize that this is just for the 3+ 5+ badge or whatever its plus is??

Personally, I didn’t have enough of a battle log and a clearer schedule of skill durations. Since the gameplay itself is tailored according to the characters of Ji-RPJI. By the way, I don’t know why they are called that (maybe because you need to find the enemy’s G-spot, this is not swearing, don’t bless my review!!!!).

Well, I didn’t see any icons with the duration of debuffs, stuns, or the same buffs. Just like I didn’t see the possibility of parrying, dodging, etc. True, on medium difficulty the entire game is played extremely intuitively.

Alas, throughout my entire playthrough I never saw the “End of Game” sign. But I’ve already started playing NG+ on high difficulty, plus there are already toothy enemies there, so after finishing the game I’ll post it again in the scriptum post anyway.

But first, the toy safely goes to 9th on the 12th beam.

This copy is good with graphics, music, technical components, a simple story and, most importantly, one of the projects that you wouldn’t be ashamed to let children play with. Plus, everyone in the game speaks in poetry, which is again great for development.

That they didn’t make it.

Level design is too simple.

The riddles are too simple.

There were not enough buff debuff icons and a normal battle log.

The story is simple for children, but I would like something more intricate.

There are a lot of characters, but you can only control 2 at a time ((((

Some quests force you to come back, and many quests are impossible to complete without crawling every centimeter of the game.

PS. I replayed the game on hard. And I really regretted that I didn’t set a high level when playing for the first time. The 2nd playthrough on NG+ was very difficult. Play for the 2nd time. and sometimes you don’t want to play more interesting games, well, here I just overpowered myself and passed

Replaying on NG+ only lowered the score by a point, because it’s very boring to play the second time, and I don’t recommend returning to the game even 5 years after completing it. There is no replayability here. The big question for the developer is why there is such a thing as ng + *????

Conclusions + Visual; makes the game stand out qualitatively

+ They didn’t cram a bunch of unnecessary elements into the game

+ The game is suitable for children + Can be played in 2nd level

+ Music

+- Interesting riddles (but alas too simple

-Game for children , which means there is no deep story, no deep combat system, all mechanics are extremely simple

-Sometimes too monotonous

-NG+ is not only not needed by the game, it harms it

-There is no replay value at all (((

Metacritic - 77

My 7.5 out of 10. A good game nothing more.
