I played Crossout for about 5 years (finished in 2023, my account was banned for voicing a complaint against the developers in the game chat) and I’ll probably leave my review about this game.
Externally, the game seems to be attractive, but there are many negative aspects:
1) Lack of a plot and a more or less normal open world (where it is interesting to do something and spend a lot of time in the game). Most of the action takes place on very limited, often cramped maps where it is even difficult to maneuver.
Raids are sadly boring, and the developers regularly tweak the characteristics of the bots, then their damage is crazy, then again tolerable, apparently playful little hands give no rest.
2) For many years there has been no balance of weapons, i.e. the effectiveness of rarer weapons can be inferior to legendary and epic types of weapons in terms of damage and the amount of negative effects imposed on the enemy, this was done deliberately for the purpose of psychological development of players .
3) Developers, in order to stimulate donations and to add at least some variety, force players to often remake their cars. Due to frequent changes by developers to the appearance of chassis, weapons and other elements, twitching characteristics: carrying capacity, power, size, damage, perks, etc., in such a way as to cause as much stress and inconvenience as possible among the players.
All shareware games have donations, but in Crossout it is especially pronounced, you can really feel that the developers are very greedy and the game is literally squeaking: “give me money.”
They try to rake in the money in any way, and play without donating: spend more than one year while you level up and buy at least one relic weapon.
4) The developers have the following principle: they roll out a new set with imbalanced donation weapons, advertise it after a sufficient number of players have purchased it, simply take it and nerf it, i.e. bring it to balance (although this is easily possible do earlier), as a result, it becomes much cheaper, and the money spent on donations turns out to be invested in nothing, this is pure scam.
5) Recently, paid battle passes for 600 rubles have often begun to come out, giving various stickers, blanks giving a chance to craft weapons that previously could be crafted simply by accumulating resources, they are coming out more and more often, and the content is increasingly wretched.
6) Inappropriately high prices in the ganjin store for donation sets, coins, etc.
The price for one donation set is comparable to purchasing a paid competitor’s game with several external battle passes, etc. To to craft one relic weapon (often 2-3 of them are required, depending on the type), you need to donate about 30 to the game thousand rubles. because for a complete set 60-90 thousand rubles for virtual weapons in the game, what do you think?
Estimate how many games you can buy for 30 thousand rubles? I think at least 3 pieces with all the improvements and battle passes.
7) Inadequate pricing policy in regions where the currency differs from the dollar, i.e. all prices are stupidly tied to the dollar exchange rate and if you live, for example, in Turkey and other countries where the dollar is expensive, then even when translated into In rubles you will pay 10-30% more expensive than, for example, in the Russian Federation. Prices do not take into account the standard of living in countries and inflation; it would be logical to link, for example, to the cost of the consumer basket
in% in order to increase the number of players.
8) Very low online in the game, at high MP (power points) often more than half of the team are bots: out of 8 players, 4-6 are bots, this makes it not interesting to play.
9) According to the terms of the user agreement, the developers do not owe you anything, and all your donations are voluntary donations, so you will definitely be scammed and claims that, for example, the purchased weapon was deliberately degraded by the developers a couple of days after it purchases are not accepted, it’s your own fault because it’s your donation.
