Of course, it’s immediately clear to the naked eye from which platforms PC Dead Age arrived to players. It’s clear that you shouldn’t expect much from it (and even at a discount). However, this does not stop it from at least the point that it should be replayable and interesting for several hours. Unfortunately, the tiny game fails to cope with the task.
Yes, Dead Age has some characters with their own "history", but their specialization does not play any significant role. Yes, the game has the ability to create weapons and any kind of equipment, but everything comes down to an endless and tedious grind of collecting the necessary materials to create items. Yes, the game has types of zombies, there is a store, and the main character’s ability to use special “perks,” but this in no way fundamentally affects the overall impression of something meager, too simple.
Yes, the game has sounds of zombie effects and screams, but their “speeches” do not evoke either fear or interest, and sometimes only distract from some important decisions. Yes, the game has graphics, but they look too strange in places, and sometimes downright unpleasant. This is especially true for models of the game world; with painted backdrops and icons, Dead Age is even more or less so.
To summarize, I would like to send the player who decided to play the product described above to some other, more pleasant and interesting representative of turn-based “strategies”. Dead Age doesn't amaze, doesn't surprise, doesn't even catch you normally, like the necessary arcade game, for an hour or two. And this is not a good call.
