Let me start by saying that this is the first horror game I've completed. The game is very addictive! You can be sure that this creation is capable of scaring everyone, and those who say that they were not scared during their FIRST playthrough are most likely lying!
Dead Space is the first part of the famous horror series from Visceral Games, in which our hero Isaac Clarke (by the way, his name was obtained by merging the first and last names of the famous science fiction writers Isaac Asimov and Arthur Charles Clarke) still does not understand where he is hit, which means, unlike the 2nd and 3rd parts, he himself is afraid, because he has not yet become a kind of “space Rambo” like in Dead Space 3, therefore the 1st part of the series is the scariest!
The game, or rather the series as a whole, has a very interesting plot, I don’t know what to say about the music (it doesn’t even seem to exist, or I just didn’t notice), the graphics are quite good for 2007. The gameplay basically boils down to running through narrow corridors (these corridors with a huge number of ventilation shafts are very oppressive), and sometimes large rooms of the huge Ishimura spaceship, and the ruthless extermination of hundreds of tenacious creatures whose limbs need to be shot off. I read in some in-game document that necromorphs do not die, but only become immobilized when you cut off all their limbs. I think not everyone will like the following: you will often have to return to an already familiar part of the ship... The game has only one drawback - the controls are not very well designed (at least on PC), the point is not that the buttons are poorly located, but the fact that sometimes you can’t see everything very well from behind the camera, and somehow it doesn’t rotate smoothly, so at first it won’t be very convenient...
In general, I think that this is a decent a game that everyone should try! Personally, it’s because of her that I fell in love with horror.
P.S.: Before passing, I recommend watching the cartoon Dead Space: DownFall, which is a prequel to the game.
