I have no idea if the developers fixed all the mistakes and bugs in the re-released version, but this is simple. Sounds are delayed from actions in varying degrees of activity, opponents are shooting at an empty point where I once sat even surrounded by it, lip-synching is trivial even in the original, the translation of the subs is quite free and difficult to read with the original, the font (like the entire menu) is small like my tickler, and the finale is completely crap with a crooked set of subs and text, which is why the whole impression of it (the finale) is completely lacking. I’m still silent about the disgusting controls on the gamepad and the inability to play with it through the TV, but this is partially attributed to the original PC version.
But if you close your eyes to this, the game suddenly plays very cool. Of course you shoot like diarrhea in the bathroom, but otherwise it’s very good. And there is a desire to pump, and to stealth, and to look for workarounds. I was very pleasantly surprised when I discovered secret paths just by leveling up my jump. Awesome.
And the plot is like this. Tedious. Yes, the setting of Deus is wonderful, and the premise is very good, but the story itself to present all this is not particularly interesting. Even intrigue with other companies does not work because... in fact, you first hear about them precisely at moments of suspicion and you turn out to be right. Next, let's go find out the truth/save the princess/save the world. There are even a minimum of interesting characters, and Jensen himself was typical of a cool guy who didn’t ask for it.
3 out of 5
I wanted to give it a rating only because of the really crappy PC version. I could accept that the plot is more interesting than it seems, and that there are actually more than a couple of interesting characters, but the subs are so shitty inside and out that I will proudly say - fuck it. If this is not fixed in the director's cut and you do not understand English well enough, it is better to have fun with our localization. It's better to bomb from some voices than from subs and translation in general. With the original voice acting, the localization problems are only more visible.
