Strange impression.
Remembering the last part, this one is perceived as the Brotherhood, after the 2nd part of the assassins. As if to start an epic story, they decided to make an introductory act about terrorists and connect it with the current state of the world. Instead of following the trail of the Illuminati, starting to philosophize about whether the terrorists are right, noticing the true face of politicians and in the end letting Jensen meet them face to face... we are simply given an act about terrorists.
I understand the fans perfectly. Given the background the game created, given that history teased us with this development, I don't understand why we were teased with these Illuminati! Cut the hell out of it and it would just be a decent cliffhanger in the finale and that's it. It would have been a completely normal plot, although I could not fall in love with the dry exposition in 80% of the plot dialogues. They also had very real characters with whom Adam established relationships himself. Why the fuck did they put a bolt on them... In side quests, of course, everything is better with this, but they are few enough that I could replace my impression with them.
In general, for me these are all little things. The problem is different. The game is damn easy. And I’m not even talking about achievements, but about your “variability of paths.” If you are not autistic and play a stealth game as an action game, then it is indecently simple. It’s not particularly difficult to pass without skills due to the huge number of mines, but this is at least some kind of challenge, unlike passing with skills! Yes, it’s nice to create workarounds for yourself, but when you know from the very beginning which skills are useful, you not only don’t die, but simply don’t allow yourself to be noticed normally. Yes, this interferes with the study of the location, but when you are an agent on an urgent mission where they shout “damn urgent beer for the Clerk, otherwise it’s a mess!!!”, then you take the place of the hero and rush to the goal.
It's hard not to respect this series. Those people who create and develop lore are fucking gold! Those responsible for the design of the locations are also pretty, although not golden, but I can’t fall in love with this series. She presents her plot so dryly, is so proud of the easy passage with the right behavior and skills, is so proud of her implants that simplify almost EVERYTHING, that I have to respect the lore and give an average rating.
3 out of 5
Sorry, but I still couldn't fall in love with the series. There are surprisingly few hours of good gameplay, including even fewer actual challenge moments. The rest of the time she is either boring or normal. HR was a little similar, but in my memories it remained a more balanced and holistic (!) work, which I cannot yet say about MD
But I do not deny that perhaps I just got into it at the wrong time.
