Unlike the first part, where there was zoo-horror, darkness, and atmosphere, the second is more reminiscent of a very bright sci-fi shooter, which did not benefit the game.
What can you come up with that would at least somehow pass the game off as a sequel? Template in the style of “evil scientists continued their experiments...”. But in order to somehow play on originality, they added elements of time travel. Roughly speaking: something went wrong on the next island, and it was somehow transported back in time, right back to the time of the dinosaurs. To figure out what was what, a detachment was sent (which included the main character of the 1st part). And then: evil scientists, running through the timeline and a very vague ending.
