10 shitty localizations out of 10
The crowning achievement of the bio-beasts, and the only good game in the DA universe, unfortunately.
I tried to play it back in 2012-2013, but due to a garbage computer (I couldn’t even handle that, yeah) and a fairly high entry threshold, I still didn’t pass it
I returned to it in 2021, already Having experience in classic RPGs and a normal computer, I couldn’t tear myself away. I played the popular version, then bought Steam, because the game is too good.
The game is made according to the typical scheme of old games from bio-creatures
1. Collect a bunch of stuff to save the world
2. Pump them into the death machine/mom's benders/fathersSotons228
3. Walk around and not understand why everyone is so afraid orcs/sith/dark lords/dragons/spawn of darkness/drunken father with trauma (underline as appropriate). After all, all this flies away with one blow to the fucking mouse
4. Fuck half the squad, fight with everyone, then fuck again
5. Read and listen to tons of fucking dialogues, and mess with Alistair
6. Find unknown crap necessary to defeat Glavgad
7. Along the way, solve the problems of all sorts of homeless people/kings/demons/drunks/and other inhabitants of our vast Russia
8. Hand out lyuli to the final boss, and then replay the game again, because the replay value is simply the wildest
To all this you can add a great soundtrack, visuals (even now it looks quite good)
The role-playing system is very flexible, despite its apparent simplicity
No less cool DLC
As a result, we got one of the best RPG, and probably the best thing for which they wrote program code and wrote tons of script text and dialogues in the Dark Fantasy genre (this is not quite it, but very close)
Play strictly in English voice acting, because the “epera translation” has already become meme, but it greatly changes a good half of the characters in this game, and Drago Age is specifically about characters. Fortunately, a quite suitable text translation is available on the Internet.
