The return of old school. A tactical RPG that has received millions of fans, created a great setting and shows us a lot of interesting dialogues and plot twists. This is how many people remember this game. But I remember a little more...
After the release of ME2, many literally idolized Biovar with renewed vigor. A new level of directing, living heroes, relationships, adventures, yes! All this is in DA:O! But personally, I have always been irritated by the division into good and bad. Of course, this game showed a darker world where everything is not so clear, but no matter what dialogue we enter into, there will always be a good and a bad option. I'm so tired of this in RPGs... as well as of stories about saving the world. No, of course the premise of the game is great, but how tired you are of knowing about the ending almost from the very beginning.
There's not much to say about the combat system. Old school tactical RPGs in a beautiful graphical package. Oh, how many battles and tactics I went through, how many skills I tried and participated in interesting quests. Oh...how I'm tired of playing through this game. Don't get me wrong, I love games like this, but when the main quest takes 20-30 hours to complete and you have to go through these fights every time, it gets boring. It's damn tiring.
Well, a few words about the voice acting: it’s mediocre. Of course, many voices cope at a completely normal level, but the game has more technical flaws than The Witcher 3 at the beginning of sales. Stuttering, “oh damn, I stuttered, let’s do it again” in dialogues, inappropriate voices (confusing male and female), mmm... If you want to immerse yourself in the atmosphere, don’t rely on ours. Even if you can tolerate all this, the atmosphere itself will not be the same.
In conclusion, I want to say that the game itself is overrated for me. It was tiring to play for a long time, the choice between good and bad, the story about victory over evil... but I can’t dispute one thing. The game has a great world. It’s interesting to study it in the notes, it’s interesting to look at the attitude of the races, at the funny characters, all this remains a bright spot in the memory, making you forget most of the rough edges of the game itself.
