Games Fallout 4 All reviews Review from MrBrickfreak

Flashes of atomic bombs... Better say flashes of atomic baggets!

It's no secret that the fallout community has been divided since the release of fallout 3. I can easily say that I am in that part of the community that loves fallout 3 and 4 much more than New Vegas. Honestly, I don't like New Vegas. But don't be so quick to call me a newfag! I've been playing fallout 1 and 2 since way back in the early 2000s, so I think I have some sort of permission to say what I think about this game. Don't think this is just an old guy complaining in a "Back in My Days" style. This is just a review of fallout 4, not a hit list..

Ok... let's get started.

1) ''Fallout games and other games called fallout''

Recently I had a big argument with my friend about the world of fallout. I said a phrase that, in my opinion, gets to the point. I said - (''I think all new fallout games can be interpreted as fanfiction''). I think so because fallout 4 became an action/shooter more than an RPG. So when I play fallout, I perceive it like a spin-off. So I'm going to talk about this game as a spin-off. I know that this is a big problem for many fans that they try and want to feel the new fallout games as a continuation.

2)Post-apocalyptic world

Here we have a paradox... the 3D world allows us to see a lot of small details and atmospheric elements, but at the same time adds a sense of unfocused action. The world in the fallout 4, with its small size (even though at E3 someone said that the WORLD is HUGE). What does the word "big" mean? In fallout 4 this means saturation. The world is full of details. Each location received many of its own special details, even the Glowing Sea received its own atmosphere, despite being the most desolate place in the game.

Perhaps I expected to see a larger and more vibrant world (like in gta5, where each npc got his own life). In the end, what did I get?

A bunch of moaning villagers! Who always whine that you don't want to do their quests.

It looks like this: you have an epic battle with a deathclaw in some dungeon, when SUDDENLY some idiot in his village thinks - (''Oh, our hero forgot about us, let's kill ourselves guys, he's an idiot, he deserves here!''), QUEST FAILED!

The main insanity is when someone asks to kill mutants to save a village that is located at a distance of N-th light years from them. Endless quests are a separate bummer, they are only needed for farming xp or (if you play on a high difficulty level) for farming rare gear and weapons. In my opinion, the story quests also failed. Recent fallout games have a problem with quests, but there are some really interesting, crazy and fun quests like The Silver Shroud quests.

The world is made absolutely perfectly, but not the quests. This very much distinguishes fallout 4 from New Vegas.

3)Gameplay.

The shooting has become excellent, this in turn confirms that the game has become a shooter to a greater extent than before. Weapon crafting (I'm not a fan of this at all, I actually finished the game without ever using crafting!) is really good. The amount of armor and clothing is very meager. What about power armor... I don't want to talk.

The social component is well done, but the conversation wheel ruins everything.

COMPANIONS ARE A MASTERPIECE! I have never felt this understanding with npcs, they interact very closely with the world and this makes them as alive as we see them in the game. Unfortunately, sometimes the main character behaves like an autist in dialogues.

Pip fight is now better, except for his mode in power armor. V.A.T.S. became a time delay tool, now I am unable to use it and go to the toilet. The skills were transferred and merged into something that is now S.P.E.C.I.A.L.

In conclusion, there have been a lot of changes to the gameplay and it is purely your choice whether you like or hate the new elements.

3) Graphics

I'm glad Batesda didn't use those disgusting color filters they used in fallout 3 (green) or New Vegas (amber).

The world has become bright and colorful. The graphics remind me of something familiar.

To sum up the entire review, the game is good, even for me as a fan of the classic fallout series.

I advise all people to research the game through videos, reviews or asking friends before purchasing.

Thank you for your attention!
