Final Fantasy XV: Royal Edition is the complete edition of the third-person action RPG set in the futuristic universe of Final Fantasy XV. You will encounter new bosses and equipment, all previously released add-ons and expansions, as well as a new mode. The game events tell the story of Noctis Lucis Caelum, the heir to the kingdom of Lucis and the possessor of eyes that can sense the death of other people.
Final Fantasy XV: Royal Edition is an enhanced and refined version of Final Fantasy XV, containing the first season pass add-ons, all patches, and the original content. However, this edition is not complete, as the developers released new add-ons in 2019 as part of the second season pass.
Royal Edition went on sale on March 6, 2018, for both Xbox One and PS4, as well as for Xbox One X and PS4 Pro, which feature improved graphics. On the same day, the separately developed PC version Final Fantasy XV: Windows Edition was released.
Story Add-ons of Final Fantasy XV: Royal Edition
During the playthrough of Final Fantasy XV, the main character Noctis temporarily parts ways with one of his companions — Gladiolus, Prompto, or Ignis. The add-ons reveal what each of these characters did during their solo adventures, culminating in a challenging boss fight.
Final Fantasy XV: Episode Gladiolus — released on March 28, 2017. Gladiolus ventures into abandoned caves to undergo the trials of Gilgamesh, the master of blades, to prove his strength and skills as the King's bodyguard. He is accompanied by Cor Leonis, who previously passed the trials. The combat system was refined, with leveling up, magic, and loot collection removed. The action takes place in limited corridor locations.
Final Fantasy XV: Episode Prompto — released on June 27, 2017. Captured by the Niflheim Empire, Prompto finds himself on a military base where monstrous experiments are conducted on children to grow Magitek soldiers. After escaping, he discovers the horrifying truth about his birth and prepares to reunite with his friends, aided by Aranea. Besides his pistol, Prompto can find an automatic rifle, sniper rifle, rocket launcher, and grenades. All of these are useful for suppressing various types of enemies. Side quests are also introduced.
Final Fantasy XV: Episode Ignis — released on December 13, 2017. It stands out from the previous add-ons with a well-developed script and clearly defined motivation for Ignis. The plot tells a short but very emotional story. The player finds themselves in the city of Altissia, fighting against soldiers and bosses of the Niflheim Empire. The combat system has shifted towards magic — with fire, ice, and electric spells. The gameplay is made more dynamic with a grappling hook for quick building traversal and numerous large enemies. There is no leveling up or side quests.
Multiplayer of Final Fantasy XV: Royal Edition

Вначале игрок создает своего персонажа в редакторе, оснащенном полным пакетом опций и небольших настроек, а потом проходит обучение, где новоиспеченный герой овладевает уникальными способностями королей древности.
Формально, Comrades относится к вселенной фильма — Kingsglaive и развивается после 13-й главы Final Fantasy XV. В дополнении есть новый сюжет для совместного прохождения, а также командные задания.
Игрокам предстоит уничтожить десятки мобов и боссов, прокачать свои навыки, амуницию и оружие. В игровом мире можно найти Гладиолуса, Промпто и Игниса, чтобы сразиться с ними. Мультиплеер развивается благодаря дополнениям, например, с новой одеждой из фильма.
