Hi all!
I've been playing Genshin for a little over a year now, I've reached rank 57 and I think I have something to tell you.
But first, it’s worth making it clear: everything written below is my opinion, and I myself am not very good at games (I mostly play on my phone; the only computer games I’ve touched are The Sims and Minecraft). Please take this into account. Thank you.
So, the first impression for me, as a beginner, was, oddly enough, meager and rather boring.
At that moment I was playing another game with better graphics and simple gameplay, which is completely tied to co-op.
Therefore, Genshin seemed too sophisticated, bright, and noisy with information. In general, incomprehensible and therefore boring.
The only thing that attracted and gave (and still gives) pleasure: the opportunity to explore the world without any special restrictions.
And this is the first of the advantages that I want to note.
The world is huge, bright, interesting, full of other people's stories, secrets, puzzles and challenges. More than once or twice I caught myself thinking that “that last fairy” that I will bring home before continuing the quest turns into tens of minutes of treasure hunting. During playtime, I often experienced that feeling of childlike anticipation to find something new.
The second advantage I would call is the system of interaction of elements. This is just my love for magic and miracles. I'm afraid I'm still more of a child than an adult.
These two aspects greet any player from the very beginning, this is what should hook a beginner. And if you get past this beginning and are interested enough to move on, you will quickly encounter a third plus: the plot (of course, the backstory of the main character and the introduction to Paimon can be called the beginning of the plot, but with a big stretch, since the real introduction to the plot line occurs a little later).
True, the plot here (as in many other human creations) is probably a double-edged sword. How many people, so many opinions. One thing I can say is that the storyline of the first two regions is worth going through. Well, or the first three, hehe.
Another positive aspect of this game will be the music and sounds. The developers here are very confused. And I’m not only talking about the music that supports the atmosphere, but also about the sound (for example, I recently got Xiao and now, when running from his face, I notice the sound of the trinkets hanging on him ringing and strumming. It’s just amazing )
The penultimate plus will be a single-player game with multiplayer elements. This is a great opportunity to avoid competition with other players due to leveling up or losing characters, simply because you may simply not see other players during the entire game. And I’m very happy about this feature, because I can explore my world by myself, but if I want, explore it with friends. I was given a choice, I am grateful.
And last but not least, I want to note one simply huge plus, which, by the way, indirectly follows from the previous one: the multi-tiered assembly of each character. As I already mentioned, in the game you don’t meet other people very often, and therefore you can collect characters as you wish without haste and without regard for others.
You can turn a healer into a ddshka, or you can turn a ddshku into a healer. Yes, to do something like this, you will have to work on this idea for a long time, but it is possible, it is interesting and cool. Due to the fact that the character's strength and abilities depend not only on the initial base, but also on other already regulated factors, you can experiment and pervert as you please.
Of course, there are some limitations that can be overcome with the help of a certain set or weapon (not everyone has one suitable for them. For example, I don’t remember seeing a one-armed weapon, a claymore or a bow that would allow a damaging character to heal others), but even without them there is something to experiment with.
Gacha only gives you cake layers, but you have to choose the filling, filling and decorations yourself. What is no less exciting than treasure hunting: isn’t it interesting to know what will happen if Lisa is given a catalyst for the hill, and Barbara is given a Prayer to the Holy Winds? Or how strong will grandfather’s ult become if he is completely on the shield and pumped up as a DD?
Personally, I find this variety inspiring.
From this kilometer-long sheet of mine it has long been clear that I really love this game. But love is love, and I can’t help but voice the disadvantages. I'll try to be as brief as possible.
The first and biggest disadvantage is that everything in this game is based on gacha. You gacha knock out a character and, quite often, a weapon for him. You collect artifacts for him/her and then pump up these same artifacts, because it is impossible to predict what stat will be pumped up this time.
The second disadvantage is that this is a rather time-consuming game, because absolutely everything is valued here, nothing goes without a trace, and therefore collecting these resources can take a lot of time.
The third minus is the plot. Funny, right? True, I don't mean the main plot. On the contrary, I want to complain about the storylines of events, because sometimes the stories from events contain information that is very important for understanding the lore, but at the end of the event, newcomers will only be told about this information by other people’s retellings.
The fourth minus also applies to events. Sometimes they are just terribly stuffy (it doesn’t happen to anyone)
Fifth, I’ll write down the lack of currency for leveling up characters. Although resin is a renewable resource, this renewal takes a lot of time + the maximum amount of this resin also leaves much to be desired, considering that with this resin we pay for drops from bosses, from dungeons for artifacts, increasing the level of character talents and upgrading weapons. In short, I would really like to see tests added for which resin would be awarded. Because otherwise it’s very difficult to level up the Persians.
And the last thing I’ll mention is the cooperative. Or rather, its features: limited characters in the message, the inability to open statues and complete story quests when there is an outsider in the world. And also the impossibility of passing the Abyss in co-op. And not so much for primogems and resources, but for fun.
And despite all these disadvantages, the game is addictive. She is loved by many (including me)
It seems that she said everything she could and wanted.
And so, have a nice day everyone and have a good drop)
