Games Genshin Impact All reviews Review from Timofey Sokolov

Quite a good game.

Nice graphics, stunning landscapes, a story that is still being released, constant updates and a wide variety of events go well with many colorful characters, each of whom has their own interesting story. The huge world of the game continues to expand, new regions and locations are being released. There are a great many tasks here, so there will be something to do in any case, because even just running around the world you can meet a dozen poor souls who need the help of an adventurer. And if some ask you to defeat monsters, bring 10 flowers and other little things, others, in turn, without remorse, will give you a half-hour quest that does not have a marker, but only hints where, in fact, to look for this unfortunate tree. Well, or puzzles, which can be solved either by a little ingenuity or by superintelligence guides. In general, even just exploring the world you won’t get bored. But one day one would get tired of just watching the world, so we move on to one of the most important things that makes a gacha out of an ordinary game, for which players are ready to sell the last thing.

At one point during their journey, the player may either accidentally press F3 or start exploring the interface. And then multi-colored banners will appear before your eyes, from which beautiful characters will look at you expectantly (the player can meet them in the story, where they will help him in something). To get the desired person, you need to spend prayers/twists/fates/colored balls. Of course, the question will arise of how to find them. And this can be done either by completing story missions, or by purchasing them for another currency - primogems, which, in turn, are ubiquitous. All these exciting events are aimed at obtaining these very primogems, they are a reward for story quests, world quests, character quests (meetings), from some chests scattered around the world you can find 1-3 pieces, you can also get crystals by going through the Abyss (will open when exploring the world and reaching a certain level), which is an endless dungeon filled with the most diverse, most powerful and in very different quantities of monsters. Let me clarify that to purchase the 1st spin you need 160 primogems. To be guaranteed to get one of the standard characters or weapons (dropped from all banners with some chance), you need to spend 90 of these twists, and to get exactly the character or weapon that is depicted on the banner, you need to spend at least 180 twists. However, since this is, in fact, a casino, you can be fooled and get what you want on the 10th, 112th, or any other try. Now let's move on to the controversial part of the gameplay. For some, it is the most boring and kills the desire to play, for others, on the contrary, it gives meaning to existence.

Farming, grinding, mining, nerdiness - call it what you want, the essence does not change. If anyone doesn’t understand what this is, I’ll explain:

So you’re running through a colorful world on your favorite character, who “ate” thousands of your primogems, and suddenly you meet a chubryk with a club, a winged beast, highway bandits, and maybe even some dressed up louts with guns. Of course, they are not in the mood to talk and immediately attack you. As you try to fight back, you see that attacks against them have no effect, and you soon find yourself killed. How did this happen? Your characters are too weak for this world.

The strength of a character in this game depends on his leveling up. Leveling up is the level of the character himself (maximum 90), the level of his talents (9-10), the level and quality of his artifacts (legendary level 20 maximum), as well as the characteristics of them, level, awakening, and in general, how suitable the warrior is for his weapon, as well as the constellations. In general, there are a lot of factors. Let's start complaining:

1) The character's level can be increased by spending experience (books) on him, which will be found in small quantities in the world, in tasks, in events, etc. As the level increases, the character will need to be elevated, which requires spending a lot of rare resources.

2) The level of talents increases for instructions that can be found in some quests, events and mainly in dungeons. You will also need various materials from character elevation, pieces of weekly bosses (updated every week on Monday), as well as a crown of insight, which can only be found in events.

3) Artifacts in this game are the most difficult thing to obtain. Finding them is easy - they are in dungeons that are always accessible. It is difficult to get the desired characteristics in them. It's very hard and requires a lot of luck. Few earthlings have perfect artifacts.

4) I described how to get weapons, but I didn’t talk about awakening and leveling up. First of all, the character will not suit any weapon, he needs a certain one. You can only find out which one is from the guides. You can upgrade it by spending other weapons and exaltation crystals. You can awaken a weapon by “crossing” it with one of the same name (the level is not important). That is, you will have to knock out several identical clubs.

5) Constellations. If you receive a character that you already have, you will be given a constellation for it. In general, knock out the character, and then 6 more times.

To level up your characters you need to collect herbs, bugs, spiders, lizards, kill mobs and much more. This will keep you busy even in the rare case that all tasks are completed and there are no updates (although this is unlikely).

In addition to all these difficulties, after completing one of the story missions, you will be given a teapot of serenity, which was turned into a house by divine forces. This is where the harsh Sims begins, where instead of money there are materials. If in a life simulator you spend money and put up a wall, here you are a damn lumberjack who has to run around and destroy natural objects for the sake of a chair that will be placed in the center of an empty room. The kettle has its own system of levels, pumping, expanding territory, construction, mining, trading and much more.

There are still some things that I haven't mentioned - for example, the unique mechanics of changing characters and elemental resonance, which is a major part of the combat system. However, this is all long and complicated; it’s better to just find a guide on how to build a squad for a specific character and how to play them. I also didn’t mention co-op, but little is built on it - players can only collect resources and kill monsters. But perhaps the main attractions will be enough.

Let me summarize what and how.

Pros:

Definitely a plot, interesting and exciting lore, as well as dialogues that don’t affect anything.

A beautiful world filled with adventures, landscapes that look amazing in anime style and character designs that are unique to everyone.

The combat system is atypical and convenient.

Events and entertainment that bring something new to the game and keep you from getting bored.

Music - the soundtracks here are amazing.

Opportunity to complete a dungeon with a stronger player in co-op.

Cons:

Where would we be without them. I'll start with the minus, which seemed like such to me - the farm. There's too much of it here. At the initial levels he is simple and relaxed, but from rank 50 he begins to become an endless nerd. However, I was able to go in once a week and felt good.

Lots of give-and-fetch quests. Sometimes it seems that the seasoned adventurer is no different from Pechkin, except that he doesn’t have a bicycle.

Prayers. There are also primogems here. Everything depends on them, so their deficiency is often a common condition. The nobles, of course, long ago decided that their wallets are cheaper than their time, but other classes have a harder life, because either you eat or you play on an anime girl.

Artifacts. I’m not against their presence, but damn it - if they made some kind of system that would allow you not to spend literally years getting the desired characteristics, they wouldn’t be worth it.

Skins that can only be obtained with premium currency. I don’t see the point of her being in the game at all, much less skins for her. I didn’t go into Dota to pay for the skin.

It may seem that there are more minuses than pluses. Although, in principle, this is so. However, all the disadvantages here are contradictory and to some extent add complexity to the game, because if it were too simple, the players would run away. And so the audience is quite constant and is only growing. And despite the difficulties, I’ve still been playing for several years now.

Do I recommend playing? Of course you can, why not. Evaluate for yourself, correct me if I got something wrong.

Thanks for reading, thanks for skimming. Good luck in conquering this exciting world, adventurers!
