This is a completely new interpretation of King's Bounty, perhaps it is closer to the source than the previous legendary series.
It is clear that there are enough conventions of a warm lamp game here - five troops in the main detachment, fighting to the last soldier, no reinforcements, orderly formations, but they are all so skillful that they do not in the least interfere with immersion. Here the artistic spirits of fire and ice seem to be doing a gymnastic warm-up. Here a huge dragon flops down heavily. Graceful chimeras, royal bears - just a sight for sore eyes!
The troop branches and the character growth branches are the same, there are four of them.
The size is visible - the main character, depending on the class, is a troll from the knee to the navel, a red dragon in battle armor hangs over everyone, covering the sky with his wings.
There are two types of undead here. There are the usual skeleton ghouls and other walking dead, among them there are reasonable interlocutors, some have a love story, some have a story of honor, some are simply finishing what they didn’t have time to do.
And those undead that suck out life and enslave to evil will are separated into a separate species with their own special name, these are the main enemies of both yours and the skeletons. These cannot be hired anywhere: you and your army are food for them.
As in the first King's Bounty (available here: http://genes1s.net/kb/game.html ) tasks are given to you on behalf of the king. Royal Army - available in the capital and some other places, and in other places there are squads of various outlandish creatures.
Part of the nobility opposes the king, their castles need to be captured, and every time it is an exciting adventure. For example, in the very first castle you yourself will ask the royal guards to issue an arrest warrant for you. And then, you can do without a fight at all, and solve the matter with cunning
Here everything is native - nature, the summer heat of the middle zone, forests, fields and rivers. Here are the ducks warming up on the shore, next to someone’s fishing rod - you really want to swim and go fishing!
And a fertile, warm region, where the war has been going on for ten years—one of the main characters comes from there. And the intelligentsia, looking for inspiration in the alien scourge that is killing the country. And enthusiastic wizards who made moving around the country easy and convenient and covered it with a network of magical wells and shops with scrolls.
A special pleasure is the dialogues, which can be watched like a film. Of course, they were written by a talented duo of famous Russian writers. Each character has something to say, they carry their stories into the living world and draw you into conversation. The nobility mints the wording of decrees, writers are florid, merchants praise the goods and drive out scammers. Knights are straightforward and honest, necromancers are courteous, but their sticky servility makes your skin crawl. Craftsmen willingly share the secrets of their craft. As the game progresses, you will have the opportunity to communicate with all layers of local society, from prisoners to the king.
I want to admire every pebble, every stream and bush, I want to jump at full speed admiring the views - and it’s not so easy.
Firstly, the horse is a rather large animal and cannot fit everywhere. Secondly, you need to sit on it correctly: try to look behind you on a horse - you will immediately want to straighten back up. Thirdly, the horse is not flexible and will not turn around in a narrow place. Therefore, you have to get off it often, and it’s a special joy to climb steep slopes. Almost any point you see can be reached, you just need to find the way.
In general, be prepared that everything will have to be done here. Do not switch the choice of good and evil with one click, but run, think, and work hard to organize this very good thing. Don't dig up the treasure, but look for it with your eyes, spinning around until you find it. Don’t come to the troll cave and buy a troll for the army - but get to know the troll and help tame it, and then watch how it grows in skill and even have a conversation once. Don’t cram a thousand fairies into one cell - and each fighter is visible from afar (art has not yet been invented in this world), from above - the whole army is in full view. And so - in everything.
The game is addictive, and you want to return to it again and again.
