Games Made Man: Confessions of the Family Blood All reviews Review from TravisBincle

MadeMan is a little popular 3rd person shooter. And if many games do not deserve to be forgotten, then the opposite is true here.

It would seem that there are very, very many games about the mafia, and those that exist are not particularly original. The hero, by chance, ends up in a family, goes all the way to the top, is betrayed, takes revenge - a happy ending. No, I didn’t describe another action movie with Seagal, but the plot of this game. Moreover, in order to be at least somehow different, the scriptwriters turned the plot into a flashback: the hero goes on his final mission, simultaneously telling his partner about how he came to such a life. All.

In general, the game is somewhat similar to Max Payne, albeit in its poor form. The hero wears a leather cloak, likes to talk to himself (though rarely), and is even capable of slowing down time. And the plot is presented in the form of a flashback.

The gameplay is all standard - run, shoot, run, shoot. The small budget put a lot of pressure on the developers, but they tried to earn their money's worth - the shootouts look very cool, bright, dynamic, and difficult. And thanks to the ability to carry any weapon in your hands (or rather, ANY weapon), shootouts turn into excerpts from a low-budget action movie. AK-47, M16, shotguns... It doesn't matter. You can take everything in both hands and carry out a vendetta. Plus, the shelters look very good - by pressing Space, the hero literally flies towards the next shelter. You can't fire blindly, but thanks for that.

Some levels are well-developed. Here you have a shootout in a roadside cafe, a Khrushchev building, in a port, in a cemetery. There are even missions in Vietnam (the hero is a war veteran), and that’s already something! But the rest of the levels are extremely bland. Factories, swamps, slums, etc.

Other positive little things include pleasant music on the menu. But the graphics are terrible. And everything is terrible: character models, textures, special effects (even the blood here resembles a blurry texture).

Apart from gunplay, cover and the ability to fire with two hands, Made Man has nothing else to stand out. And if the plot were more or less interesting, the budget was larger, then it would be possible to pass even now. But if you don’t play it, you won’t lose anything.
