The first part was perfectly finished. That now, compared to the background of the second and third, the gameplay looks crooked.
Overall a worthy re-release.
Among the minuses there are only minuses of the original parts.
In the first part there are similar planets to explore and boring trips to Mako.
In the second, the loss of narrative integrity as a result of cutting the game into DLS (about 40). These DLCs were once sold for a lot of money. And the developers needed to somehow justify the purchase.
Because of this, you will find artificially prolonged tasks and a large amount of unnecessary content, through which the question arises: “Why go through this, since it is not directly connected with the main plot, and leveling up in the Mass Effect series is purely symbolic.” It turns out content for the sake of content. Like, well, we added it, so go ahead. Well, or don’t pass (that’s also possible).
In general, the game feels overloaded and consists of different loosely connected pieces.
I’m not saying anything about the fact that the 3rd part is a direct continuation of the “Arrival” dlc. Which is listed as additional. the task can be missed by a person who has not played before.
Third part. The dull graphics, taking into account the re-release, look even worse than in the first one. Some sharp, torn animations. Passing right after the second one, this is clearly noticeable. Overall, the game looks like it was made in a very short time and with only one goal. Bring the story to some end. And so that this hell (work on the game) will finally end.
Everything about this game suggests that no one wanted to make it. But as they say, “it is necessary.” After all, EA bosses do not intend to lose profits.
When you go through all three parts one by one. The third one causes some kind of rejection. It felt like it was made by other developers (this was partially true). After the second, some personnel left the studio.
It’s a pity that starting from the second half of the second part, the plot begins to turn into some kind of nonsense that contradicts common logic. And by the third, the delirium reaches its apogee.
Human Reaper, dlc Leviathan, Forge, Catalyst. These are all the nails in the coffin of the series.
The series could only have one logically correct ending. Some people and other races, realizing that they cannot cope with the reapers. They create an ark and fly off to another galaxy. The Reapers destroy life in the galaxy and go back into hibernation.
Yes, I understand that I just took the idea from Andromeda. But the developers first screwed up the plot of the 3rd part. And only then did we think of it.
If it weren’t for the rush and the desire to quickly make a game to fuck off. We would have a normal plot.
And of course it would be important to remove failures that contradict the lore of the universe.
And according to him. Nobody created the Reapers. In the words of the Lord, “We have always been and will always be.” That is, we can conclude that reapers have existed as long as the universe has existed.
Every body has an immune system that supports its functioning and attacks parasites. Organic life is precisely this parasite of the universe.
Overlord: - “You are a mistake. Just a gene mutation.”
What does organic life do to survive? Eviscerates planets, destroys stars. The same zero element is mined. But it is not infinite.
Here you can recall the words of Smith from The Matrix. "Humanity is a disease, a cancer of the planet, and we are the cure." Reapers are the cure.
Organic life is not a law. This is an exception to the rule. We shouldn't be here. The Universe is the kingdom of inorganic matter (life).
This is precisely the message that was included in the original plot of Mass Effect. And his EA managers happily screwed up after Drew Karpyshyn left. It’s not for nothing that they say that “The road to hell is paved with good intentions.”
