Games Metro Exodus - Sam's Story All reviews Review from Egoistya

DLC that didn't turn out very well. There is no other way to describe it. It's not as interesting as The Two Colonels, and the story told in it doesn't exactly tug at the player's heartstrings. In general, it feels like some kind of chain of side quests in the original Exodus, just with new locations (which is debatable, because the surroundings do not change at all) and a disgusting “American” accent. I would like to dwell on this point in more detail, because this accent is simply infuriating. In the original, we played as Artyom, who, in general, had no voice at all (and it would be better if it were the same here), so Sam’s inadequate accent did not infuriate him so much. But here we play as an “American”, who, when he switches to normal English, for some reason we clearly hear a RUSSIAN accent, which, against the backdrop of the vile “American” accent when pronouncing Russian words, simply unsettles us. And the dialogues with Tom... oh, I want to forget this as a terrible Russian film with cranberry "Americans" with the exact same disgusting voice acting. In general, the Russian localization turned out not bad, like in the original, but this nonsense with the accent... And yes, I know that in the English version everything is exactly the same, either all or most of the characters have a stupid accent , which is also creepy, and many English-speaking people, if possible, try to change the voice acting to Russian since there is a minimum of such cranberries (and besides Sam, there are also characters who in our voice acting received a hearing-cutting weapon), but in the case of this addition, we, for example, we find ourselves sandwiched between two perspectives: the terrible English voice acting of Russian characters or the terrible Russian voice acting of the main character. Choice without choice.
