Mortal Kombat X - this game was perhaps the most anticipated game of the year, at least for me. What happened, why did it cause hatred, and why did it cause love from millions of players around the world? Let's begin.
1. There are very few characters compared to MK 9. Without taking into account DLC, there are only 24 of them. Of these, only 15 are “oldies”, the remaining nine are “newbies”. Four are relatives of old characters, the rest are the result of the wild imagination of the developers. The newcomers look interesting, but with rare exceptions, in the form of cowboy Erron Black, they fit very awkwardly into the world of the game. Unfortunately, the promised balance did not work out; Goro, for example, will easily “drag” any character, even if he is controlled by an inexperienced player. But Reptile, on the contrary, cannot win in any way, even under the guidance of an experienced gamer. I hope this will be fixed with patches.
2. The graphics, which frightened owners of weak PCs from the moment the game was announced, turned out to be actually good. Everything looks cinematic, blood flows like a river, beads of sweat on the characters are carefully drawn, in general, the system requirements fully justify themselves. Also, the ability to interact with objects in the background has been added. The soundtrack is chosen perfectly, the rock songs don't get boring, it's one of the few fighting games that you want to play with headphones.
3. From the strengths of the game we move on to the weaknesses. Optimization on a PC is simply terrible; on my not at all weak computer, some cards take five minutes to load and lag heavily after launch, to say nothing of owners of weak PCs. There are also a lot of ordinary bugs, which the developers, of course, gradually fix with gigantic 15 GB patches, but with these same patches even more bugs come into the game. We need to work on the game for a very long time, it is still damp.
Result: an interesting combination of the series' heritage with newfangled trends, ruined by poor optimization and many bugs and shortcomings.
P.S. Thanks to VGtimes for the opportunity to win MK X, which I did not fail to take advantage of)
