Great game! passed in one go on PS3
Excellent plot and atmosphere, unusual setting and non-standard gameplay. Even if it’s boring, there’s at least some variety, otherwise we’re already tired of games based on the same shoot-action-cutscene concepts. There would be more leisurely games like this, where there’s no action, but it’s interesting to watch the outcome. 10/10.
The developers chose not just any Los Angeles or New York as the setting, but small Salem, one of the oldest cities in New England, founded in 1626. As you know, all the devilry usually happens in small settlements; there is much more betrayal, rumors and hatred towards each other here than in big cities. In American culture, this settlement is somehow associated with mysticism, and it all began with a trial where alleged witches were executed. Since then, there have been legends and scary stories about this town. The developers did not miss a beat with the choice of location: the town looks atmospheric, attractive, and at the same time you don’t want to stay here for long: evil, spirits, mysticism are felt in this inhospitable place, which keeps many secrets and is not going to reveal them voluntarily. Salem, by the way, was the setting of Stephen King’s novel “The Lot,” and those who read the book probably remember what a nasty and dangerous place it is.
