Nier: Automata absolutely honestly deserves its ratings on Metacritic and other sites. The plot is definitely complex and has a lot of allusions to the modern world and its problems, the gameplay for each character is radically different, each NPC is well-developed and has their own thoughts and feelings, and the music is so good that I added most of the OSTs to my daily playlist.
