Well, I think absolutely everyone, everywhere knows this horror movie, so there’s no point in talking too much about it. But despite its incredible popularity, I don’t consider Outlast the best horror game, because here everything is done as pathetically and simply as possible, namely: “Fast legs are afraid of NOTHING,” and no weapons or at least a symbolic opportunity to fight back are needed. Here is the secret of one of the best horror games of our time)
Well, this game also harshly advertised video cameras with night vision. There is also a wild amount of violence in it and all locations are simply filled with liters of blood. Because of this, at some point you don’t care at all, because you get too used to the trash that happens here.
The game is incredibly realistic, I would even say one of the most realistic in existence. The character has a body, a shadow, all his actions are animated in detail, only he is mute, but this is a budget expense. The developers had only 1.5 million dollars, which is quite a bit by the standards of modern games.
Outlast turned out to be a rather pretentious project with a huge amount of action. When I played it for the first time, I really liked it and was really scared, but with repeated playthroughs it becomes not scary at all, because even on a nightmare difficulty you can easily beat the game without lifting your finger from the “shift” key, because the hero doesn’t run out of steam at all, no matter how much you fled.
