Penumbra Overture is a well-made, tense horror game that puts pressure on the player psychologically and does not allow you to relax for a minute. Frictional Games did a great job with Penumbra. For FC, Overture was one of the first games they created, after which they gained experience and created other great games, for example the Amnesia and Soma series of games. The work on the music and the atmosphere was done wonderfully, even listening to the soundtracks without playing the game, it still creates a tense atmosphere that doesn’t let you go, Mikko Tarmia did an excellent job, for me, he is on the same level as Akira Yamaoka, they both know how to create music that is intense and puts pressure on the listener. Penumbra undoubtedly scared many players not only in its own time, but even now it is quite capable of it.
