Resident Evil 4 (2005)

It was the fourth part of the Resident Evil series that made me very happy.

The atmosphere of the game is something, even despite the linearity of the game you want to return to it again and again.

Oh, this part of the series struck me the most, and not the most convenient controls, but the game is very atmospheric, good bosses and difficult missions. And still the best in the series. I hope there will be a re-release with new graphics and more adequate controls. Definitely worth playing for everyone

I played this game back in 2007-2009, then it left a lot of positive impressions, both with its plot and interesting gameplay, and the controls, which everyone criticizes, for me became, let’s say, a “feature” of the game, which you get used to and play as if It cannot be otherwise.

I was offended when I decided, relatively recently, to replay this masterpiece (only the HD version) on my laptop, without a mouse, and the controls were changed to a mouse (I actually had to buy a mouse). When aiming with a mouse, you can feel the old echoes of the keys in the movement, but this, in principle, does not interfere with the game.

The 4th part of the game turned out to be excellent in terms of the plot when you are thrown onto an island full of infected people to save the president’s daughter, and 99% of the time no one will help you, the atmosphere is also very good, the graphics even in 2020 seem good, the gameplay is also not bad.

I had a chance to play the fourth part several years ago, when it was decided to familiarize myself with all parts of the series. Of course, the game is not without its sins; it is clear that for modern players it has already outlived its usefulness. However, I believe that the “quartet” still feels confident in terms of plot, characters and atmosphere. The time passed unnoticed, so if you are not bothered by the 2005 graphics, not the most convenient controls (but which you can get used to!) and a couple of bugs, then you should definitely check it out. At a minimum, a charge of nostalgia is provided if you have already completed this creation before.

The most favorite part in the RE series, I played it many times, RE2 remake also hooked me, but all the excitement was enough for just one playthrough, and here there is a very big world, a cool atmosphere. I would like to note that there are a large number of bosses; even in the same case it is interesting to place ammunition. There are 5 chapters, but the game is sort of divided into three parts: the village, the castle and the island. Everywhere there are enemies, bosses. There is a lot of content. The only downside I can mention is the crooked controls, but this is only true at first. As someone who has completed RE4 more than 4 times, I can say that this is an incredibly cool game!

1) Gameplay: The game doesn't confuse you with screamers, it scares you with its atmosphere. There are many zombies, they are strong, they are different. The game consists of several roughly speaking acts. And in each such act there are completely different opponents. At the beginning you fight with ordinary villagers, and at the end armored soldiers with machine guns come against you.

184 rubles is not a pity. The game is still considered the best part after 2-3.

Not a bad soundtrack component. Picturesque locations similar to Spain during the times of cults. Various types of weapons from a crossbow to a shotgun and more. Of course, an interesting plot in the spirit of such horror films as the saw, the house of the dead, a quiet hill, the hills have eyes.

My opinion is 9 out of 10, yes there are flaws such as the lack of a mouse and a crooked port.

However, there are more positive things.

I’m very upset that the game is not available for us Russians, it’s just kind of crazy. And that the store doesn’t open here, but Zaka-Zaka and a 10% coupon cover everything.

I recommend for purchase.

Interesting plot, unique gameplay, beautiful graphics, dynamic battles and a large selection of weapons, the game is super.

The first thing I would like to note is the terrible controls and even the lack of the basic “turn with the mouse” function, so don’t even bother without a gamepad.
