Carving 4 is beautiful. It's over 10 years old, I think, and the original is still enjoyable to play, but the Remake has added even more advantages. But first, a couple of cons. The first is that the original's most beautiful weapon, the knife, is now broken. This is enough for the fart to detonate, because you don’t have a unique weapon that is used infrequently, but with it you can easily kill Krauser, almost the final boss of the game. Secondly, the map is complicated by huge labyrinths, but this is rather a matter of taste. Now the pros, it will last for a long time. The game was perfectly adjusted to new players and new hardware. The graphic is now magnificent, you can admire it for several minutes while standing still, moreover, the game has been transferred to the 7th part engine (it seems), and the interface looks nicer. Crafting has also appeared in the game, thanks to which, instead of grenades, a lot of gunpowder and materials for ammunition take place. Thirdly, the game has become more cinematic, making the game more exciting and more dynamic than the original. Beautiful cutscenes await you at every step, and QTEs were also removed from the game, and the game hasn’t lost that much. Now the first meeting with Krauser is not a fun cutscene with poking buttons, but a real knife fight using the new parry mechanics. Speaking of her. Knives now have to be searched for in different locations, and they break easily, which is why the bombing continues throughout the game. Thank God, your original combat knife can be repaired and even strengthened so that it does not fall apart in two hits. In order to somehow compensate for the moral damage caused to the players, the developers added a parry function. Now, before an enemy strikes, you can sharply pull out the knife and protect yourself from the blow, stunning the offender, but this is not enough, in my opinion. In general, the game has gotten better, the graphics have been improved, the controls have been tweaked, and even transferred to the PC, and even From Software can’t do that (Where is our Bloodborn, you lazy bitches?). We added a couple of small details, for example, Ashley looks much older and more pleasing to the eye, and the shark’s secret scream is now in a beautiful cutscene. Overall, I liked the game, I recommend giving it a try.
