Resident evil 7 was a great reboot of the series. Here begins a completely new story with new characters, infection and enemies, in which there is practically nothing familiar from the previous parts, with the exception of Easter eggs and the appearance of the good old hero at the end of the game (I'm talking about Chris). It's unusual that the game was made in first person, although the cutscenes were always in third person. In addition, there is more horror than action here, which is undoubtedly cool, since resident evil was originally a survival horror game, but gradually turned into an action shooter. The gloomy atmosphere and suspenseful soundtrack make you completely immerse yourself in the game and experience fear. By the way, there are even some scary moments here that do the job w… Read full

The game is quite hardcore and scary, what can I say, one guy with a chainsaw scared me when I accidentally climbed onto him. I completed it to the end, even if in agony and suffering, in a couple of weeks, since I didn’t really want to return to it after 10 hours of gameplay. As a horror game it will do, but if you want to kill time, choose another game of this genre

Well what can I say. The game is cool. It’s as similar as possible to the first part, I don’t know why they’re shouting about Outlast here and there.

It doesn’t really shine in terms of history, but Kamon, the reziki never had good plots, they always blew away the gameplay and atmosphere (well, except for 5 and 6, everything is bad there). Nice picture, moving to a new camera was only beneficial (a plus for immersiveness).

It was disappointing that there were few puzzles (there were only a few identical riddles of the “twist the figure” type, well)

Stuffy fights with bosses, except for the first one, perhaps. , but it was only boring here)

On the plus side:

+ The plot has moved away from category G films, although it is rather weak, it is already better than before.

+ Lucas

+ Locality of events

Thanks to Capcom for the new Outlast

The announcement of the seventh serialized part was very unexpected at the time. The game didn't look too similar to any previous games. Some family of crazy people in some old house, some story about rescuing a wife from some sect. Where are the zombies? Where are the Umbrella viruses? Where are disasters on an apocalyptic scale and endless action like in Six?

But everything falls into place when the gameplay begins, during which you just want to periodically say, “Yes, damn it, this is the same Survival and the same Horror as it was in the first parts.” Instead of a mansion there is now a big house, instead of a pursuing Tyrant there is an indestructible Jack Baker, and episodes with chases. And despite the fact that the game is very similar in visuals … Read full

Among the main RE games, RE7 (but also 8) is perhaps the most atypical. The earlier parts of RE were mostly action in a horror shell, but here we have Outlast with guns.

In general, I am a person who is not afraid of horror games, RE7 was no exception for me. However, I still really liked the gameplay, plot and atmosphere of the game. I am enraged and at the same time delighted by the hitbox of enemies, the hitbox is clearly proportional to the enemy model, and the cartridges fly exactly across the sight, which is why at first the shooting infuriated me, and then... then it also infuriated me, but I accepted what this realism gives a challenge that games had never given me before, because “how is that possible? Do you really have to aim in a shooter??” I don’t like puzzles that leave you st… Read full

In short, my verdict: excellent. In more detail:

1. Gameplay. A very interesting thing. At the beginning you get scared by every sound, but then it’s a regular shooter with some jump scares. Of course, compared to the eighth part, this is simply the “Curse of the Nun” of the world of horror games. But there is no constant shooting here either. The puzzles are more difficult than the eighth one, but there are not enough of them. Scary moments are mostly jump scares. But there is a scary atmosphere here too. For example, the moment with Evelina’s room in the old house. Mini-verdict: 9.0. Not enough horror.

2. Graphics. Of course, the game is 2017, and it makes no sense to demand from it something like a new demo of The Matrix. But still you can’t say that she is good or bad. Average. In horro… Read full

Many consider it the best cutter. Why not? At first they fed me, gave me something to drink, and then they gave the owner of the house a beating. Isn't this a masterpiece? Of course a masterpiece! Wasn't Resident Evil ever a masterpiece? Go buy and play!

One of the best games in the genre. I don’t know how Outlast gets into this (I haven’t seen amnesia, but I think it’s the same slag dump), because the game is uninteresting and not exciting due to the fact that there is no way to defend yourself - you run and hide , like the last schmuck. I want to kill the main character myself faster because he is such a coward.

The creepiest part in the Resident Evil series. Although Resident has always belonged to the horror genre, it only became such after the release of the seventh part.

Each enemy causes a feeling of discomfort, as it did in the first three parts, but from the first person, the immersion is even better. There is little action and this also benefits the atmosphere of the game.

At first there is no smell of any biological weapon here at all. There is some pure Japanese devilry going on with mysticism, and in general some kind of P.T. at maximum. Everything is exactly as in the instructions: a girl with supernatural powers, monsters in the spirit of Silent Hill, a creepy house in the swamps in which a crazy family lives. In short, in terms of the atmosphere of horror, the game is in no way inferi… Read full

At first glance, this is a completely different game. There is nothing in it similar to the usual Resident. Neither in gameplay, nor in content. You can, of course, draw parallels between the estate from the first part, but those who remember the sensations of the first game in the series will easily confirm that there is nothing similar in principle.

A game with a huge focus on VR is being presented to the player. You can immediately see the mechanics that are being developed specifically for use with a virtual reality helmet. Hence the difference in the camera - the transition from third to first person.

No, all this does not make the game good or bad. But it makes it extremely difficult to evaluate it specifically as a numbered game in the series.

In any case, fear, blood and death await the player. And, of course, secrets that chill to the bones...
