Great work on the bugs. There is no Pratchet insanity, no dull gray tones, no Down characters, no feeling that Croft is simply a magnet for trouble and a universal loser. It was simply pleasant to play in beautiful locations, looking at the plot without insanity. The production has grown dramatically, the animations of the simply charming Lara have taken a noticeable step forward. The game has wonderful elements that make it worth trying, but I can’t help but dig into a number of “buts”.
It is still difficult not to notice the conflict between the script and gameplay (Kiev crown under a random tree in Siberia!). There is much less of it because the game was not planned from the very beginning as a survival game, but the small ones are just as wonderfully ignored, like a bumblebee that doesn’t fit into the drift and ends up right in the fucker.
Open locations for exploration are noticeably out of step with the overall pace of the game. Not because we have something to study, but because the game has about 3 huge levels created only for study, where the plot itself allows us to take a breath. But it feels like forced breaks with unambiguous paths, side effects and so on. Specifically, I’m not very interested in such hints about hooking up with side effects and studying local brothels.
And finally the plot. Prachet has exactly one complaint and it is based on a rather old habit of hers. There simply isn't enough plot. I understand that the game is primarily about the gameplay and all small conversations can be left on the radio, but forgive me if all the dialogues are based on stating the facts “We were attacked!”, “Run here”, “They are there”, this is an unwillingness to develop characters and the chemistry between them. I can say offhand that all the scenes where there were villains had good character development behind them. The scenes with the bearded man were very good. But all of them were only a couple or several times during the game, and the remaining time we were stupidly guided through the gameplay. All other characters appear literally for a couple of minutes and carry nothing but walking sleepers to build rails for us to move on.
And so I scratched my virgin mustache, sneezed, blew my nose and thought what to put to the game? If you look at the facts, the game has taken such a confident step forward that after 2 out of 5 of the first part you want to give it a proud 4. However, judging by memories, emotions and sensations, it would be worthy of such an assessment if the game had better work with the characters and a less abrupt ending. Even though he came out very nicely, his very appearance was very unwelcome, like a drunken dad at a wedding. It seems like you understand that it’s a good reason to get drunk, but don’t puke on the boy carrying the ring.
3 out of 5
We need more almost everyday live scenes, a little more competently enter locations for study, improve the logic of gameplay and script (so that crowns don’t lie in the forest at least), and give more time characters. This is what I would like to see. Otherwise, this is a cheerful and beautiful adventure game with enjoyable gameplay and charming Lara. I wanted a little more, but even my 1200 is worth more than that if you like to study locations.
P.s. but Lara herself is just 5 out of 5 how cute she has become. Well, by God, if there were a little more videos where she shows her facial expressions so charmingly, I would forgive everything in the world.
