Games Ryse: Son of Rome All reviews Review from Comrade_Strogg

As always, Kraytek made a tech demo, not a game.

Graphon - there is a very decent one. Some scenes are really pleasing to the eye, everything is at the highest level, that’s what Krytek can do.

Gameplay - the first hour is quite fun, but after that you get bored, because the linearity here is simply incredible - the game constantly takes control, brings the hero to the right place (to the next arena with a bunch of NPCs), and then allows the player to fight . Sometimes, however, we are given the choice of where to turn and who to put where (in rare moments of defense organization), but this does not affect anything, and it is not clear why this was done.

The takedowns are very impressive, but the animations can be counted on one hand, so very soon you stop admiring them, plus, if you press the wrong button, the GG won’t get any boos, but the game will simply give you fewer pumping points ( By the way, you upgrade instantly; by the second hour of the game you unlock all available upgrades).

The plot is very boring, as if one of the developers gave his child a story to write and then took it to the office. Already at the beginning of the game we are thrown some kind of drama, but you don’t care, because... you only know the characters for 10 minutes. Some moments are absolutely idiotic and cause laughter, others (or rather, all) are predicted a couple of minutes before they happen. In general, a failure.

So, the only good thing is the graphic design, and everything else is done terribly. The game is not worth your money, buy it on sale for no more than 150 rubles, or better yet, don’t waste your time at all.
