Perhaps we can immediately say that the game is undervalued, as evidenced by at least sales, because it is believed that the game was a financial failure. However, the game itself is very good. It is generally accepted that such games are GTA clones, but in the case of Sleeping Dogs, this is far from the case. Yes, on the one hand, like in GTA, we have a metropolis, a gangster theme, we ride on all types of transport that we come across, etc. However, as they say, we have our own atmosphere and our own tricks here.
Firstly, the action takes place in Hong Kong, with its atmosphere and flavor, although, I am sure, in real Hong Kong there are more people and traffic on the roads.
Secondly, since we are in China, we will mainly find out whose kung fu is better, partly the action movie is reminiscent of Arkham, but at the same time we will also learn different combos as the game progresses, plus interaction is implemented in the game with the environment during fights, which makes skirmishes more fun. Speaking of fights, the game has an addition about the zodiac island, it is stylized after the films of Biryusa Lee, and the fights in it are even more interesting because there will be bosses to which you will have to find your own approach, unlike the game itself, so I do not advise skipping it.
Thirdly, a lot of emphasis in the game is placed on parkour, you will have to run and jump often.
Fourthly, the plot may not be original, an undercover cop and all that, but it’s not bad and there are really cool turns and scenes in the game. The story missions themselves are quite good and you don’t get the feeling that you’re doing the same thing the whole game (although there are a lot of fights, of course). In addition to the plot tasks, there are also side tasks, mainly these are all sorts of orders from people, and although they do not affect the plot in any way, purely from the gameplay side I was pleased, because for about 30 tasks there are 1-2 approximately identical ones, i.e. As for me, they are quite diverse and they are not banal.
In addition to this, the game has nice graphics, of course there aren’t enough stars in the sky, but it doesn’t cause rejection either, it’s quite on the level. The physics of the car can also be noted positively, it is very arcade-like, but the transport is easy and pleasant to drive (now I started playing Watch_Dogs, and this is sorely lacking)
I completed the game in about 30 hours, this is with DLS . Some people will say little, but I will say just right. The game is not artificially drawn out and this is a plus for it. I remember playing through GTA 4 and thinking I’d quit, it took me 60+ hours and I was already tired of these same type of tasks. In this game, everything is in moderation, because I don’t like grinding.
In the end I would also like to add that the game is definitely worth the money, especially since very often you can see a discount of up to 80% on it, which I took advantage of, and I advise you to do the same.
