Sonic 3D in 2D is a reimagining of the classic 16-bit platformer Sonic 3D Blast, made by fans for fans. The original game was released at the end of the Mega Drive's life cycle — in the fall of 1996 — and was SEGA's attempt to transfer the action of the Sonic universe into a pseudo-3D environment. The fan project, on the contrary, does not flirt with newfangled technologies for the mid-nineties. The game consists of 15 acts in 8 zones. You have to fight 15 bosses and choose one of three characters: Sonic, Knuckles or Tails.
